What makes COB different from regular SMD strip lights?
COB (Chip-on-Board) places hundreds of LED chips directly on one substrate with no gaps. This produces a perfectly continuous beam with zero visible dots or hot spots — impossible to achieve with discrete SMD chips.
What driver do I need?
A constant-voltage DC 24V LED driver. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run (14–16 W/m × run length) with 20% headroom. Maximum run per driver is 5,000 mm.
Can I dim the COB-B strips?
Yes. Use a PWM or 0–10V dimmable driver. The strip itself is compatible with both dimming methods, giving smooth, flicker-free dimming down to 1%.
Which aluminium profile should I use?
The COB-B is 10mm wide and fits profiles 1408, 1616, 2507, 1715, 2515, and 2020. For recessed cove applications, profile 2020 or 2515 is most commonly used. Contact us for profile samples.
